The following are current and former Film School @ SCC students who have proved themselves gifted and ready for the world:
FELIX ALLEN
Felix who has taken classes in the program credits Laurie Fagen’s Screenwriting 111AA, short commercial scripts, with providing him the skills he needed to pursue this area of script writing. He was hired last fall to write commercials for Trimble and Nextel that were played on their cellphones in their retail stores nationwide
JULES ANTONIO
Two large post-production labs are equipped with the standard non-linear Jules, who followed the Broadcasting Track while attending SCC, accepted a position as an anchor/reporter at the CBS affiliate in Fresno.
SHAWNA BEGAY
Not only was this talented young woman selected as a paid intern at Warner Brothers Animation Post Production Department, but she’s also a student at Chapman University, which has recently been the recipient of a large grant to expand their film school to compete with the established Los Angeles schools, USC, UCLA and AFI.
CINDY BROWN
An advanced screenwriting student, Cindy recently won the Award of Merit from the Arizona Chapter of the Media Communications Association for her Public Serivce Announcement, “Ability.”
AARON BURKLE
Aaron, a former screenwriting student (finished 12-04), won first place in the Almost Famous Festival held in Phoenix recently. He won for his darkly comic screenplay set in the future about man vs. dog fighting. even larger audience base.
JOEL DOBOWITZ
Was a part of the team responsible for making the suit wore by Dracula in the recent film, “Blade Trinity.” Joel is also

Karen, who completed her work at the Film School @ SCC in the spring of ’04, had three of the films she produced screened at Laemmle’s Fairfax Theater, a revival and art house in Los Angeles.
DENNIS LEWIS
One of the Film School @ SCC’s advanced screenwriting students placed in the top 10 percent of the 4600 entries of the Scriptapalooza competition for his screenplay, “The Skeptic.” In the Slam Dance competition he made the quarter finals with his script entitled “Match Head.”
LARRY BLACKHORSE LOWE
Larry’s film, “5th World,” the story of a Navajo couple who travel from Flagstaff to their homes on the reservation and discover why they can’t continue their relationship was accepted by this past January Sundance Festival and by this month’s Phoenix Film Festival.
CATHY McCARTHY
Cathy, a screenwriting student just won the Phoenix Film Festival Screenwriting Competition for in-state writers with her script, “Oh Brother,” a romantic comedy. She also was one of four top winners in the Scriptpimp screenwriting contest in which there were 1400 entries. Her logline was one of four that won fifth place in that competition.
AUSTIN NORDELL
Austin is a film production student who’s moody short film was accepted by the Almost Famous Festival and was screened at the Ice House in downtown Phoenix. It was first place for Cinematography and second place for Best Story, Overall quality and Audience Favorite.
BRIAN PULIDO
Brian’s short horror film, There’s Something’s Out There, has won several awards including, Best Short and Most Frightening Film, Cine-Macabre Film Fest; Best Short Film, Rhode Island Horror Fest; and Runner up as Best Short Film in the Scottsdale International Film Festival. It’s also been an official selection in Screamfest in L.A., Exo-Fest Film Fest, Shriekfest, L.A., and several others.
ERNIE QUIROZ
Ernie, a former film production student and now an editor at Channel 5, produced the film, “5th World,” with Larry Blackhorse Lowe. It is the story of a Navajo couple who travel from Flagstaff to their homes on the reservation and discover why they can’t continue their relationship was accepted by this past January Sundance Festival and by this month’s Phoenix Film Festival.
DALI SABIH
Dali’s music video, which he wrote and produced for a popular Iraqi singer who lives in Los Angeles was produced in Arizona. The song is a call to Iraqis to go forward into the future in peace focusing on what they have in common. It was broadcast in Iraqi at the time of their elections
RYAN SMITH
Ryan, who graduated in 1995 from the Film School @ SCC Program has become an award winning director of music videos including two Best Rock Video, one Viewers’ Choice plus one other from the MTV Video Awards. He’s completed over 50 videos. Ryan recently volunteered his time to speak with Film School @ SCC students.
JOSH STAMAN
Josh finished up his work in the Film School @ SCC Program in the spring of ’04, has joined several other graduates of the Program at Columbia College in Chicago. A four year school that also features hands-on learning and accepts Film School @ SCC credits.
DAVE STREETMAN
Dave has accepted a position at ABC’s KNXV, channel 15 in Phoenix, as a production technican.
DAN STURM
Dan, who’s following the Editing Track, credits the “real world” approach taken by Film School @ SCC and especially Prof. Bert Cutler who stayed after class answering his questions, for his success at finding work before even finishing the course of study. He’s currently working at Bay 6 Productions where he uses the 2 Avid Adrenaline.
